Hear one of the nation’s finest college choirs perform Thursday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. in First United Methodist Church Shreveport.

Conductor René Clausen, celebrating his 32nd year at Concordia, conducts the 72-voice a cappella choir in a varied concert. One section, titled ‘Out of Darkness Let Light Shine’, includes special staging effects and works by Joshua Clausen, Eriks Esenvalds, and John Rutter. Other composers include Josef Rheinberger, Steven Sametz, Leonard Bernstein, J.S. Bach and René Clausen. The final set includes a number of hymns, folk songs and spirituals.

This concert, which is free of charge and open to the public, will be offered in the Sanctuary of the church in order to accommodate more attendees.

Tickets go on sale, online, two weeks before a production. They are processed in the order in which they are received.

The Box Office, located in the lobby of the Emmett Hook Center, is easily accessible during the day via the side door at the circle drive from Milam and Common Streets. The Box Office itself is open Noon-Four P.M. ten days before a production for phone orders and to pick up tickets. There is a service charge for tickets printed and charged online but none for those purchased or picked up at the Box Office.
